About the
Book
There are a
great amount of people, from those just beginning their careers
to seasoned veterans, who are struggling to find work or even an
interview in their chosen field. As a result, job seekers of all
experience levels are scrambling and competing for that one available
position that exists in the marketplace.
This is proven
by the opportunities offered by companies that in many cases begin
at a salary as low as $10.00 per hour for positions that require
more than entry-level experience. In fact, I remember a potential
employer that I was interviewing with admitting to me of not knowing
just how difficult it was for those searching for work as he was
interviewing candidates with extensive managerial experience for
lower level positions.
During my job
search out of college, much of the frustration that I eventually
developed was due to the fact that I had nobody to confide in about
what employers required from potential employees regarding such
areas as experience, salary expectations and overall industry knowledge.
And as someone that has experienced the process of not only working
in, but interviewing for jobs in many different industries, I now
understand these issues and can offer this information to others.
My Journey Up
And Then Back Down the Corporate Stepladder
is a satirical
and humorous exploration into my many brief stops within the corporate
world. It focuses on my observations regarding the individuals,
policies, and personalities that make up the average office environment
in addition to the job seeking process itself.
The book also
explores current religious, racial and gender sensitivities as they
relate to past pop culture views, and how these negative factors
affect these corporate surroundings while also dividing us up as
a country on a social level.
